How to get back to pre-pregnancy size.

Light weight lifting can help new moms build muscle and burn away lingering unwanted baby fat.

The first few months after having a child can be the most rewarding of your life. Well, that could be until you find the time to look in the mirror. But just because your body changes after pregnancy doesn’t mean you can’t get in the best shape of your life. Often times we think, how do we ever get back to that size again.
Here is my advice.
Patience: you need lots of patience, Rome wasn't built in a day just as your pregnancy didn't grow overnight. Never go on a short term weight-loss diet with the aim of achieving very rapid result, it will work for a while but it is not sustainable. Losing that belly fat is a gradual process.
Exercise: It is not an easy task, but trust me, it is worth it. Don’t think or worry about doing exercises until after at least four months. Try and start exercising slowly and gradually increase as your body adjust to it. Drink water if you become dehydrated while exercising.
Healthy diet: This is the best way to leave, weather you are young or old, man or woman. What you eat tells a lot about you. Healthy eating should be part of our daily lives. One of the keys to weight loss is portion size, you can be eating all the right stuff but size matters. Most of our food in Nigeria are carbohydrate based, so go slow on the grains, bread, garri, wheat, amala, pounded yam etc. If you cannot avoid them totally, then try getting your carbohydrates from other sources like your green leafy vegetables, nuts etc. Take it easy with oil, use sparingly if you must.

In conclusion, i'd say with patience and preliminary fitness restrictions, the muscles will react better and faster to eventual exercise than if you jump on the treadmill two weeks after leaving the hospital. Add in a proper diet and you'll be on your way to losing the baby weight.
Good luck
